Completed his third season with the Tigers in 2012, appearing in 66 games.<br />

• Tossed a season-best two innings on April 24 versus Seattle -- matched the high with two innings pitched on June 12<br />

at Chicago’s Wrigley Field against the Cubs, June 16 versus Colorado and July 2 versus Minnesota.<br />

• Fanned a season-high four batters on June 12 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field against the Cubs.<br />

• Posted a 1.17 ERA (15.1IP/2ER) over a 16-outing stretch June 15-July 28.<br />

• Compiled a 2.53 ERA (10.2IP/3ER) and 13 strikeouts in 11 outings during June.<br />

• Posted a 2.61 ERA (10.1IP/3ER) in 11 appearances during July.<br />

• Did not allow a run in 11 straight outings August 11-September 17, fanning eight batters in 5.1 scoreless innings.<br />

• Compiled a 3.38 ERA (26.2IP/10ER) in 34 appearances at home...posted a 4.61 ERA (27.1IP/14ER) in 32 outings on<br />

• Lefthanded hitters batted .263 (31x118) against him...righties batted .396 (40x101) with him on the mound.<br />

• Earned the save as he worked two scoreless innings in Game Two of the American League Championship Series on<br />

October 14 at Yankee Stadium versus New York -- joined Willie Hernandez as the only two pitchers in Tigers postseason<br />

history to register a save by pitching two-or-more innings...Hernandez ac<strong>com</strong>plished the feat twice during the<br />

World Series in 1984, doing so in Game Three and Game Five against the Padres...prior to Coke, New York’s Mariano<br />

Rivera was the last major league pitcher to post a save by pitching two-or-more innings during the playoffs...Rivera did<br />

so for the Yankees in Game Two of the World Series in 2009.<br />

• Fanned the first seven batters he faced during the World Series, setting an all-time World Series record according to<br />

the Elias Sports Bureau -- the previous record of six straight strikeouts was shared by three different pitchers, who all<br />

ac<strong>com</strong>plished the feat during a single game: Hod Eller (1919), Moe Drabowsky (1966) and Todd Worrell (1985).<br />

Opened his second season with the Tigers in the club’s starting rotation, making 14 starts before he returned to the<br />

bullpen for the remainder of the 2011 season.<br />

• Finished with a 2-2 record and 3.71 ERA (34.0IP/14ER) in 34 relief appearances...posted a 1-7 record and 4.82 ERA<br />

(74.2IP/40ER) in 14 starts.<br />

• Established a career high with seven strikeouts in his first start of the season on April 9 versus Kansas City.<br />

• Registered his first career win as a starter on April 14 at Oakland -- did not allow a run as he established a career best<br />

with seven innings of work...matched the career high with seven innings of work on May 18 at Boston.<br />

• Suffered the loss in a career-high six straight decisions April 19-June 29.<br />

• Sidelined May 24-June 8 with a right foot bone bruise -- made one start with Triple A Toledo as part of an injury<br />

rehabilitation assignment on June 3 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.<br />

• Compiled a 2.89 ERA (28.0IP/9ER) in five starts during May.<br />

• Did not allow a run in 13 consecutive outings August 2-30, fanning 20 batters in 12.0 scoreless innings.<br />

• Posted a 1.23 ERA (7.1IP/1ER) over an eight-outing stretch September 6-25.<br />

• Compiled a 3.05 ERA (65.0IP/22ER) in 25 appearances (eight starts) on the road...recorded a 6.60 ERA (43.2IP/32ER)<br />

in 23 outings (six starts) at home.<br />

• Finished 1-8 with a 4.88 ERA (79.1IP/43ER) in 19 outings (14 starts) prior to the all-star break...posted a 2-1 record<br />

and 3.38 ERA (29.1IP/11ER) in 29 appearances following the all-star break.<br />

• Held lefthanded hitters to a .215 batting average (32x149)...righties batted .314 (86x274) against him.<br />
