VSL Tigers Manager<br />

Gil returns for his third season with the Tigers organization to serve as the manager of the Venezuelan<br />

Summer League Tigers in <strong>2013</strong>. His stint as the manager of the Venezuelan Summer League Tigers<br />

marks his first professional managing or coaching assignment.<br />

Originally signed by the Boston Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent on July 22, 2003, he spent five<br />

seasons with the organization as a catcher. He saw action with Single A Lowell in the New York-Penn<br />

League during his final season in 2008.<br />

CARLOS BOHORQUEZ<br />

Bohorquez returns for his fourth season as the pitching coach with the Venezuelan Summer League<br />

Tigers in <strong>2013</strong>, his fourth season with the Tigers organization. It marks his first professional coaching<br />

assignment.<br />

Originally signed by the Cincinnati Reds as a non-drafted free agent on July 12, 1999, he spent three<br />

seasons in the organization as a third baseman before being converted to a pitcher. Bohorquez <strong>com</strong>piled a<br />

14-19 record and 3.90 ERA in 194 games over six seasons as a pitcher in the Reds minor league system<br />

(2002-07). He pitched in Mexico during the 2008 season.<br />

CARLOS QUINTERO<br />

VSL Tigers Infield Coach<br />

Quintero returns for his fourth season as the infield coach with the Venezuelan Summer League Tigers<br />

in <strong>2013</strong>, his fourth season with the Tigers organization. It marks his first professional coaching assignment.<br />

He most recently worked three years at Los Arcos High School as a sports instructor.<br />

Quintero represented the Distrito Federal in many national baseball tournaments from 1979-93.<br />

Additionally, he represented Venezuela as he participated in the Youth Baseball Championships in 1978<br />

and both the Central America and Caribbean Youth Championships in 1982.<br />

JOSMAN ROBLES<br />

VSL Tigers Hitting Coach<br />

Robles will serve as a coach with the Venzuelan Summer League Tigers in <strong>2013</strong>, his third season in<br />

that capacity and his eighth season with the Tigers organization. He served as the manager of the<br />

Venezuelan Summer League Tigers for five seasons (2006-10).<br />

He spent four seasons (2002-05) as the manager of the Venezuelan Summer League Red Sox before<br />

joining the Tigers organization in 2006. Prior to joining the Red Sox, Robles worked for the Florida Marlins<br />

for five seasons (1997-2001). He first joined the Marlins as a scout in Venezuela, before managing the<br />

Venezuelan Summer League Marlins in 2001.<br />

Robles was named the Angel Vazquez Latin American Person of the Year in 2000.<br />

He played six seasons (1986-91) at the minor league level with the Atlanta Braves.<br />
