The <strong>2013</strong> season will mark Boesch’s fourth season with the Tigers.<br />

• Named the American League Rookie of the Month with the Tigers in both May and June of 2010.<br />

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS<br />

Completed his third season with the Tigers in 2012, hitting .240 with 12 home runs and 54 RBI in 132 games.<br />

• Drove in a season-high four runs on April 12 versus Tampa Bay.<br />

• Established a career best with a 12-game hitting streak May 7-19, batting .341 (15x44) with two doubles, a home run<br />

and three RBI.<br />

• Collected a season-high four hits on June 13 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field against the Cubs.<br />

• Hit .385 (20x52) with six doubles, four home runs and 16 RBI over a 15-game stretch July 3-24.<br />

• Batted .295 (23x78) with seven doubles, four home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games during July.<br />

• Batted .254 (59x232) with three home runs in 65 games on the road...hit .227 (54x238) with nine home runs in 67<br />

games at home.<br />

• Hit .279 (34x122) with runners in scoring position.<br />

Limited to 115 games during his first full season at the major league level with the Tigers in 2011 due to season-ending<br />

thumb surgery in September.<br />

• Established career bests with 75 runs scored, 121 hits and 16 home runs.<br />

• Scored four runs and collected four hits and four RBI on April 3 at New York’s Yankee Stadium -- became the first<br />

Tigers player with at least four runs scored, four hits and four RBI in a game since Dmitri Young did so on April 4, 2005<br />

versus Kansas City...Young finished with four runs scored, four hits and five RBI that day at Comerica Park.<br />

• Compiled a career-best 10-game hitting streak April 18-29, batting .429 (15x35) with five doubles and four RBI --<br />

matched the career high with a 10-game hitting streak June 25-July 4, batting .378 (14x37) with four doubles and two<br />

home runs.<br />

• Batted .319 (29x91) with nine doubles, a home run and 13 RBI in 26 games during April -- tied for fifth in the American<br />

League with nine doubles during the month.<br />

• Established career highs with five hits, two home runs and five RBI on June 6 at Texas -- marked the seventh time since<br />

at least 1919 a Tigers player finished a game with at least five hits, two home runs and five RBI and the first time a<br />

Tigers player has ac<strong>com</strong>plished the feat since Carlos Pena collected six hits, two home runs and five RBI on May 27,<br />

2004 at Kansas City...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, he became the fifth player in club history to finish with at<br />

least three runs scored, five hits, two home runs and five RBI during a single game -- Boesch joined Ty Cobb (1925),<br />

Hank Greenberg (1937), Charlie Gehringer (1937) and Pena in ac<strong>com</strong>plishing the feat.<br />

• Hit .380 (41x108) with 21 runs scored, eight doubles, six home runs and 13 RBI in 27 games during June -- led the<br />

American League with 41 hits during the month, while he finished third with a .380 batting average and tied for seventh<br />

with eight doubles.<br />

• Left the game on August 10 at Cleveland with a right thumb sprain -- saw action in eight more games with the Tigers<br />

before undergoing season-ending surgery.<br />

• Sidelined for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right<br />

thumb on September 6, a procedure performed by Dr. Thomas Graham at the Cleveland Clinic.<br />

• Hit .302 (32x106) against lefthanded pitchers...batted .276 (89x322) with righties on the mound.<br />

• Batted .306 (96x314) in 84 games prior to the all-star break...hit .219 (25x114) in 31 games following the all-star break.<br />

Saw his first major league action after being recalled from Triple A Toledo by the Tigers on April 23, 2010 -- topped all<br />

American League rookies with 14 home runs and 67 RBI, while he finished second with 119 hits, 26 doubles, 193 total<br />
