Enters her 15th season as the head of the Tigers grounds crew after joining the club on January 19, 1999.<br />

• According to a survey of teams, she is believed to be the first female head groundskeeper in the modern history<br />

of Major League Baseball.<br />

• Inducted into the West Michigan Whitecaps Hall of Fame on January 19, 2011.<br />

• Served on the grounds crew for the 2010 NFL International Series in London, England.<br />

• Served on the grounds crew for each of the last 10 Super Bowls, beginning with Super Bowl XXXVIII at Reliant<br />

Stadium in Houston, TX...also served on the grounds crew for the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in<br />

Miami, FL.<br />

• Named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ 40 under 40 in 2006, as one of the top individuals who have achieved<br />

solid business success before the age of 40.<br />

• Received the Dick Ericson Award from the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) in 2001, one of the highest<br />

awards issued by the association.<br />

• Born in Detroit and raised in Milford, MI, she attended Northern Michigan University and Lansing Community<br />

College…graduated from Michigan State’s Sports Turf Management Program in 1993.<br />

• Performed an internship at Michigan State in athletic grounds in 1993.<br />

• Worked 1993 and 1994 as a groundskeeper at the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training camp in Dunedin, FL.<br />

• Joined the Single A West Michigan Whitecaps as head groundskeeper in 1994…remained with the Whitecaps<br />

until joining the parent club in Detroit.<br />

• 42 years of age...is an avid downhill skier in the off-season.<br />

TIGERS MONTHLY SAVES RECORD<br />

Todd Jones established the Tigers single-month saves record with 13 saves for the club during May of the 2006 season.<br />

Jose Valverde joined Jones to be<strong>com</strong>e the only two pitchers in franchise history to register 10-or-more saves in a single month,<br />
