<strong>2013</strong> TIGERS<br />

Served as Detroit’s utility infielder during the 2007 season, seeing action in 66 games -- marked his fewest games at<br />

the major league level since he played in 18 games with the Tigers after joining the club in September of 2002.<br />

• Entered the game on April 18 versus Kansas City as a pinch-hitter and remained in the game to play right field --<br />

marked his first appearance in right field at the major league level.<br />

• Collected a career-high four RBI on May 8 versus Seattle.<br />

• Hit .370 (17x46) with a double and six RBI over a 13-game stretch May 27-June 14.<br />

• Batted .316 (12x38) with two doubles, a triple and five RBI in 16 games during May.<br />

• Hit .302 (13x43) in 16 games during June.<br />

• Optioned to Triple A Toledo on August 17 -- posted an eight-game hitting streak August 22-30, batting .452 (14x31) with<br />

two doubles and three RBI.<br />

• Recalled by the Tigers from Toledo on September 1.<br />

• Batted .284 (31x109) in 43 games prior to the all-star break...hit .246 (14x57) in 23 games following the all-star break.<br />

• Hit .413 (19x46) with runners in scoring position.<br />

• Acquired by the Chicago Cubs from the Tigers in a two-player deal on November 12...acquired by Atlanta from Chicago<br />

in a three-player deal on December 4.<br />

of Placido Polanco from the Philadelphia Phillies on June 8, 2005.<br />

June 26 at Arizona and July 19 at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field against the White Sox.<br />

• Batted .267 (44x165) with 35 runs scored, 12 doubles, five home runs and 19 RBI in 46 games for Oriente in the<br />

Venezuelan Winter League following the season.<br />

Completed his first full season at the major league level with the Tigers in 2004 -- tied for fourth in the American League<br />

with nine triples.<br />

• Grounded into a double play once every 125.8 at-bats, third-best in the American League.<br />

• Tied for fourth among league second basemen with 12 errors, while he finished eighth with 73 double plays.<br />

• Opened the season as the club’s utility infielder, seeing action in 22 (starting seven games) of the club’s first 32 games<br />

April 5-May 11, before taking over for an injured Fernando Vina at second base on May 12 -- started 116 of the Tigers<br />

final 130 games of the season.<br />

• Belted a solo home run on May 14 versus Texas, his first home run since September 10, 2002 at Minnesota -- snapped<br />

a stretch of 314 at-bats without a home run.<br />

• Matched a career high with four hits on May 27 at Kansas City -- collected three doubles in the game to be<strong>com</strong>e the<br />

first Tigers player to do so since Juan Encarnacion finished with three doubles on September 25, 2000 at Yankee<br />

Stadium against New York.<br />

• Belted a three-run home run on June 15 at Philadelphia to establish a career high with three RBI -- matched the high<br />

for RBI on five different occasions: July 4 at Colorado, July 22 versus Kansas City, August 11 at Oakland, September<br />

6 versus Kansas City and September 17 at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field against the White Sox.<br />

• Did not <strong>com</strong>mit an error in 32 consecutive games June 20-July 27, a stretch of 150 total chances at second base and<br />

in center field.<br />

• Batted .400 (26x65) with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 10 RBI over a 15-game stretch June 23-July 8.<br />

• Belted the first lead-off home run of his career on July 10 at Minnesota -- homered to lead off the game four more times<br />

during the season: July 22 versus Kansas City, August 17 and September 17 at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field against<br />

the White Sox and September 28 versus the Chicago White Sox.<br />

• Launched two home runs on July 22 versus Kansas City to establish a career high -- equaled the best with two home<br />
