ASSISTANT HITTING COACH - 87<br />

The <strong>2013</strong> season will mark his first full season as Detroit’s assistant hitting coach...Harrah joined the major league club<br />

as assistant hitting coach in June of 2012.<br />

• Prior to joining the major league staff in his current role, he spent nine seasons (2004-12) as the organization’s minor<br />

league hitting coordinator...previously held the position of minor league hitting coordinator for two seasons (1997-98)...<br />

Harrah joined the staff in Detroit as the hitting coach on July 31, 1998, after Larry Herndon was dismissed.<br />

• Served as a coach for the Fort Worth Cats, an independent league club in the Central League, in 2003.<br />

• Spent three seasons (2000-02) as the bench coach with the Colorado Rockies.<br />

• Served as the roving minor league hitting instructor for the Cincinnati Reds during the 1999 season.<br />

• Spent the 1996 season as the third base coach for the Cleveland Indians.<br />

• Named the International League’s Manager of the Year in 1995 after leading Triple A Norfolk of the New York Mets<br />

organization to an 86-56 record.<br />

• Spent eight seasons (1987-94) as a manager, coach and hitting instructor in the Texas Rangers organization following<br />

his retirement in 1986...he managed Triple A Oklahoma City for two seasons (1987-88) before joining the Rangers<br />

major league staff as the first base coach in 1989...after three seasons as the first base coach, he was named the<br />

bench coach for the 1992 season...Harrah served as the club’s interim manager during the second half of the 1992<br />
