Four types of reporting activities are <strong>under</strong>taken: (1) <strong>National</strong> state of year Inventories <strong>Report</strong>ing<br />

(NIR), (2) Data content and Structure (DCS), (3) Methodological Description (MD), (4) Quality <strong>Report</strong>ing<br />

(QAR) and (5) Quality Manual (QM). The reporting of NIR and QAR are presenting specific<br />

data sets and has thus to be done every year, while <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r reporting DCS, MD and QM is<br />

process oriented and thus linked to changes in methods and procedures, which are not necessary<br />

change from one year to an o<strong>the</strong>r.<br />

It may be meaningful to combine NIR and QR in one single result-oriented report every year.<br />

While <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r reporting types have to be done in separate reports in order to optimise transparency.<br />

The PM’s has to be addressed in <strong>the</strong> type of reporting as shown in Table 1.2.<br />
