In 1999 there were 7.7 employees <strong>for</strong> every hundred vehicles sold in the U.S., according to estimates<br />

based on domestic light vehicle sales. Using the average domestic automobile price, estimates show 4.1<br />

employees <strong>for</strong> every million dollars spent on light vehicles. This includes employees of motor vehicle<br />

parts manufacturers and tire manufacturers.<br />
