in his favors, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> superiorety <strong>the</strong> late Earle Argyle had <strong>of</strong><br />

Glenlie and Locharki [r] k in Lochaber. I am order'd by <strong>the</strong> Dwk<br />

to send <strong>the</strong> signatur to your Lordship, that you may consider it<br />

and returne it ui<strong>the</strong> your oppinion uhat is fitt to be done in that<br />

matter, ui<strong>the</strong> your convenience. Upon <strong>the</strong> death <strong>of</strong> Meldrum,<br />

Edinb : befor this coms to hand, specially consideringe how<br />

necessary it is for <strong>the</strong> King's service upon this emergent,<br />

occationed by <strong>the</strong>s bloody and barbarous monster Rebels, uhar<br />

your wyse councils uill be so leading and eminent for <strong>the</strong> good<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Goverment.
