redeveloped <strong>in</strong>corporat<strong>in</strong>g the<br />
renovation <strong>of</strong> the historic City Hall and<br />
police station.<br />
1966 – Capital Region District formed to coord<strong>in</strong>ate regional<br />
issues and local government <strong>in</strong> the Greater Victoria Region.<br />
1974 –Market Square opened after creative revitalization <strong>of</strong> more<br />
than half a block <strong>of</strong> historic build<strong>in</strong>gs and development <strong>of</strong> a<br />
vibrant central courtyard.<br />
1975 – Fish<strong>in</strong>g wharves demolished to make way for Coast<br />
