SECTION 01 31 19 – PROJECT MEETINGS PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for project meetings including but not limited to: 1. Pre-Construction Conference. 2. Pre-Installation Conferences. 3. Coordination Meetings. 4. Progress Meetings. 1.2 PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE A. The Owner shall schedule a pre-construction conference and organizational meeting at the Project site or other convenient location no later than 7 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed and prior to commencement of construction activities. Conduct the meeting to review responsibilities and personnel assignments. B. Attendees: The Architect and their consultants, the Construction Manager, the Contractor project manager and superintendent, major subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers and other concerned parties shall each be represented at the conference by persons familiar with and authorized to conclude matters relating to the Work. C. Agenda: Attendees shall discuss items of significance that could affect progress including such topics as: 1. Tentative construction schedule. 2. Critical Work sequencing. 3. Designation of responsible personnel. 4. Procedures for processing field decisions and Change Orders. 5. Procedures for processing Applications for Payment. 6. Distribution of Contract Documents. 7. Submittal of Shop Drawings, Product Data and Samples. 8. Preparation of record documents. Housekeeping. 16. Working hours. 1.3 PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCES A. The Contractor shall conduct a pre-installation conference at the site before each construction activity that requires coordination with other construction. The Installer and representatives of manufacturers and fabricators involved in or affected by the installation, and its coordination or integration with other materials and installations that have preceded or will follow, shall attend the meeting. Advise the Construction Manager and Architect of scheduled meeting dates. 1. Review the progress of other construction activities and preparations for the particular activity under consideration at each pre-installation conference, including requirements for: a. Contract Documents. b. Options. c. Related Change Orders. d. Purchases e. Deliveries. f. Shop Drawings, Product Data and quality control Samples. g. Possible conflicts. h. Compatibility problems. i. Time schedules. j. Weather limitations. k. Manufacturer's recommendations. l. Compatibility of materials. m. Acceptability of substrates. n. Temporary facilities. o. Space and access limitations. p. Governing regulations. q. Safety. r. Inspection and testing requirements. s. Required performance results. t. Recording requirements. u. Protection.
