SECTION 01 40 00 – QUALITY REQUIREMENTS<br />

g. Identification <strong>of</strong> product and Specification Section.<br />

h. Complete inspection or test data.<br />

i. Test results and an interpretation <strong>of</strong> test results.<br />

j. Location <strong>of</strong> sample or test in project.<br />

k. Ambient conditions at the time <strong>of</strong> sample-taking and testing.<br />

l. Comments or pr<strong>of</strong>essional opinion as to whether inspected or tested Work complies with<br />

Contract Document requirements.<br />

m. Name and signature <strong>of</strong> laboratory inspector.<br />

n. Recommendations on retesting.<br />

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE<br />

A. Qualification for Service Agencies: The Owner will engage inspection and testing service agencies,<br />

including independent testing laboratories, which are prequalified as complying with "Recommended<br />

Requirements for Independent Laboratory Qualification" by the American Council <strong>of</strong> Independent<br />

Laboratories, and which specialize in the types <strong>of</strong> inspections and tests to be performed.<br />

1. Each independent inspection and testing agency engaged on the <strong>Project</strong> shall be authorized by<br />

authorities having jurisdiction to operate in the State in which the <strong>Project</strong> is located.<br />

1.5 TRADESMEN & WORKMANSHIP<br />

A. Ensure that tradesmen performing work at site are skilled and knowledgeable in methods and<br />

craftsmanship needed to produce required quality levels for workmanship in completed work. Remove<br />

and replace work which does not comply with workmanship standards as specified and as recognized in<br />

the construction industry for applications indicated. Remove and replace other work damaged or<br />

deteriorated by faulty workmanship or its replacement.<br />

1.6 COORDINATION<br />

A. Coordination: The Contractor shall coordinate construction activities included under various Sections<br />

<strong>of</strong> these Specifications to assure efficient and orderly installation <strong>of</strong> each part <strong>of</strong> the Work. Coordinate<br />

construction operations included under different Sections <strong>of</strong> the Specifications that are dependent upon<br />

each other for proper installation, connection, and operation.<br />

1. Where installation <strong>of</strong> one part <strong>of</strong> the Work is dependent on installation <strong>of</strong> other components,<br />

either before or after its own installation, schedule construction activities in the sequence required<br />

to obtain the best results.<br />

2. Where availability <strong>of</strong> space is limited, coordinate installation <strong>of</strong> different components to assure<br />

maximum accessibility for required maintenance, service and repair.<br />

3. Make adequate provisions to accommodate items scheduled for later installation.<br />
