RAMAPO COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY 505 RAMAPO VALLEY ROAD MAHWAH, NJ 07430 NOTICE TO BIDDERS PROPOSAL NO. 11-210C PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that SEALED BIDS will be received for E-Wing Renovation for Teacher’s Education project at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Director of Purchasing, Academic Complex Wing D Room D-116, Ramapo College of New Jersey, 505 Ramapo Valley Rd., Mahwah, NJ until 2:00 PM local time, Thursday, May 10, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened. If because of inclement weather the College is officially closed on the bid due date, the bid opening will be postponed until the next business day at the originally scheduled time. The project involves the gut renovation of approximately 7,400 square feet of a portion of the existing E-Wing second floor. The project will create new faculty offices and classrooms within the building. Bids will be received for a single contract covering all work indicated in the construction documents. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference and site inspection has been scheduled at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Friends Hall room SC219 in the Robert A. Scott Student Center building at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Firms not present at the pre-bid conference may not submit bids. Bids submitted by firms not present at the pre-bid conference will not be opened and returned to the bidder. The Bid Documents will be available for download from the College’s website http://www.ramapo.edu/ewing.html commencing at 9:00 AM, Monday, April 16, 2012. Bidders may also purchase documents directly from ACE Reprographic Service, 74 East 30th Street, Paterson, NJ 07514 (telephone 973-684-5945) per the printer’s copying and shipping charges. All questions are to be submitted to the attention of Mr. Daniel Connelly, Cambridge Construction Management, dconnelly@cambridgecm.com no later than Monday, April 30, 2012, 2:00 PM local time. Proposals must be made upon, and in accordance with, the bid forms supplied by the Director of Purchasing. Bid proposals shall hold for sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening. Bidders are required to comply with requirements of New Jersey Public Law 1975 Chapter 127 (N.J.A.C. 17:27). All bidders, and their subcontractors, shall be registered with the Commissioner of Labor for Public Works in accordance with New Jersey Public Law 1999 Chapter 238 B, The Public Works Contractor Registration Act. All bidders shall comply with New Jersey Public Law 2005 Chapter 51 (formerly Executive Order 134). Bids must be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier's check or Bid Bond payable to Ramapo College of New Jersey in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid. The bidder shall provide a Certificate of Surety from a company authorized to issue such coverage in the State of New Jersey. The bidder’s surety shall state that 100% performance and payment bonds will be furnished to the successful bidder. A Prevailing Wage Rate Determination is available for inspection at the Office of the Contracting Officer (Mansion Room 211). The prevailing wage rate will be made a part of the final contract document. The College reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
