5 PROJECT POTENTIAL TRAFFIC IMPACTS<br />

The majority of the project works are <strong>to</strong> be undertaken within existing<br />

electricity transmission line easements. Minor realignments have been<br />

designed <strong>to</strong> minimise environmental impacts, rationalise line infrastructure<br />

and provide more secure and reliable energy supply network for the North<br />

Coast. The location of all interactions between the line and road network over<br />

the project area is listed in Table 5.2 and shown in Figure 5.1<strong>to</strong> 5.6. The<br />

potential impact of the project works on the road network is then examined in<br />

terms of the construction activity that is <strong>to</strong> be undertaken.<br />

5.1 CONSTRUCTION PHASE<br />

The EA (ERM 2009) identified potential environmental impacts associated<br />

with the construction activities for the Project. These are summarised in Table<br />

5.1 below.<br />
