Acoustic and<br />

Amenity Impacts<br />

The progressive nature of the transmission line upgrades will limit any acoustic and<br />

amenity impacts in any one location. The maintenance of amenity will be a high<br />

priority during the construction activities and have been considered in the design of this<br />

traffic management plan.<br />

In accordance with Condition 2.1 of the Project Approval, the Proponent shall only<br />

undertake construction, maintenance and repair activities, and operational stage truck<br />

movements that would generate an audible noise at any sensitive receiver during the<br />

following hours:<br />

• Monday <strong>to</strong> Friday - 0700 hours <strong>to</strong> 1800 hours;<br />

• Saturday - 0800 hours <strong>to</strong> 1300 hours; and<br />

• No work on Sundays or Public Holidays.<br />

This condition does not apply in the event of a direction from police or other relevant<br />

authority for safety reasons, or <strong>to</strong> prevent environmental harm, the loss of property or<br />

risk <strong>to</strong> life. Nor does it apply <strong>to</strong> emergency maintenance activities necessary <strong>to</strong> res<strong>to</strong>re<br />

electrical supply <strong>to</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>mers.<br />

The hours referred <strong>to</strong> under Condition 2.1 of this approval may be varied with the prior<br />

written approval of the Direc<strong>to</strong>r-General. Any request <strong>to</strong> alter the hours shall be:<br />

• considered on a case-by-case basis; and<br />

• accompanied by details of the nature and need for activities <strong>to</strong> be conducted<br />

during the varied hours and any other information necessary <strong>to</strong> reasonably<br />

determine that activities undertaken during the varied hours will not<br />

adversely impact on the acoustic amenity of sensitive receivers in the vicinity<br />

of the site.<br />
