Degree Applications<br />
To be eligible for a degree, you must file an application with the <strong>Graduate</strong> School within 30<br />
days after the beginning <strong>of</strong> the semester (or 15 days in the summer session) in which you<br />
expect to complete your studies. You may pick up the blue application cards in room 309,<br />
College <strong>of</strong> Nursing, Office <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Services from the <strong>Student</strong> Affairs Officer for<br />
<strong>Graduate</strong> Studies.<br />
After completion, the blue degree cards must be signed by the appropriate assistant dean, who<br />
will forward them to the <strong>Graduate</strong> School. The deadlines for filing for a degree are listed in the<br />
<strong>University</strong> Bulletin and in the Schedule <strong>of</strong> Classes. (Note: Major code NUR; degree codes<br />
M.S.N. or Ph.D.)<br />
Degrees are awarded at the end <strong>of</strong> the fall semester, the spring semester, and the summer<br />
session, but formal public ceremonies are held only at the spring commencement. You are<br />
encouraged to attend commencement exercises even if you receive your degree in the<br />
preceding summer or fall.<br />
Advisors are to request and urge graduating master's students to complete the End-<strong>of</strong>-<br />
Program Evaluation. These forms will be given to the graduating student by the assistant<br />
dean for advanced practice nursing when the final exam is taken.<br />
