Clinical Scholars Post-Masters in Nursing Objectives<br />
The objectives <strong>of</strong> this option are the same as those for the M.S.N. degree program, which are<br />
to:<br />
• Evaluate theory, research, and clinical knowledge for development and implementation<br />
<strong>of</strong> innovative approaches to care<br />
• Provide advanced practice nursing care consistent with the American Nurses<br />
Association standards <strong>of</strong> care and pr<strong>of</strong>essional performance<br />
• Analyze factors that influence advanced practice nursing, health and health care<br />
(including biologic, psychologic, social, economic, cultural, political, ethical, legal, and<br />
geographic factors)<br />
• Evaluate the outcomes <strong>of</strong> advanced practice nursing and health care using appropriate<br />
research methods<br />
• Use theory in the management <strong>of</strong> health care resources to deliver effective and efficient<br />
clinical services and programs<br />
• Collaborate with others to meet the health needs <strong>of</strong> populations<br />
• Contribute to the advancement <strong>of</strong> health and health care through leadership in practice<br />
and the pr<strong>of</strong>ession<br />
• Collaborate with others to identify and resolve ethical issues in health care practices,<br />
research, and policies<br />
