Goal <strong>of</strong> the Master's Program<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> the master's program is preparation for the advanced practice <strong>of</strong> nursing. In the<br />
master's program, pr<strong>of</strong>essional nurses prepared as generalists at the baccalaureate level gain<br />
advanced knowledge and skills in the nursing care <strong>of</strong> a defined population <strong>of</strong> clients. Such<br />
specialized knowledge and skills are the bases for nursing leadership in health care, and a<br />
foundation for developing further expertise in doctoral study.<br />
