<strong>Graduate</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Admissions and Progression Committee<br />
Functions:<br />
• Reviews procedures for admission and progression <strong>of</strong> students in the graduate program<br />
and recommends changes when appropriate<br />
• Reviews petitions and faculty recommendations in regard to admission and progression<br />
<strong>of</strong> students and makes appropriate recommendations<br />
• Reviews those students with unsatisfactory academic performance and recommends<br />
action<br />
• Based on established criteria, screens students for awards<br />
• Seeks input from appropriate assistant dean and designated faculty regarding student<br />
petitions<br />
• Implements the evaluation responsibilities listed in the College <strong>of</strong> Nursing Evaluation<br />
Plan<br />
• Makes recommendations to faculty based on program evaluation<br />
• Evaluates the usefulness <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Nursing Evaluation Plan in relation to<br />
GSAPC and recommends revisions in the plan as needed<br />
Membership:<br />
• Four College <strong>of</strong> Nursing faculty members elected from the faculty, two with full<br />
membership in the <strong>Graduate</strong> School and one with associate membership in the <strong>Graduate</strong><br />
School, one who teaches in the College <strong>of</strong> Nursing graduate program.<br />
• Assistant dean for research and the Ph.D. program, ex <strong>of</strong>ficio<br />
• Assistant dean for advanced practice nursing, ex <strong>of</strong>ficio<br />
• <strong>Student</strong> services <strong>of</strong>ficer, ex <strong>of</strong>ficio<br />
