Delta Psi Chapter <strong>of</strong> Sigma Theta Tau International<br />
Sigma Theta Tau International is the nursing pr<strong>of</strong>ession's honor society.<br />
Purposes <strong>of</strong> the Delta Psi Chapter are:<br />
• To recognize superior achievement<br />
• To recognize the development <strong>of</strong> leadership qualities<br />
• To foster high pr<strong>of</strong>essional standards<br />
• To encourage creative work<br />
• To strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes <strong>of</strong> the pr<strong>of</strong>ession<br />
Eligibility for <strong>Student</strong>s in the <strong>Graduate</strong> Program<br />
• Definition - <strong>Graduate</strong> program is defined as an accredited program <strong>of</strong> graduate study in<br />
nursing, including master, post-master, doctoral, and post-doctoral.<br />
• Grade point average - <strong>Student</strong> in graduate programs shall be eligible for membership if<br />
they have achieved a grade point average <strong>of</strong> at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent<br />
<strong>of</strong> this measure in academic achievement when grade point averages are not available or<br />
used by the nursing degree program.<br />
• Curriculum - <strong>Student</strong>s shall have completed a minimum <strong>of</strong> one-quarter <strong>of</strong> the required<br />
graduate curriculum.<br />
• Exceptions - Exceptions may be made at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the chapter's governance<br />
committee following the guidelines adopted by the international board <strong>of</strong> directors.<br />
NOTE: <strong>Graduate</strong>s <strong>of</strong> the programs may be considered for STTI membership under the<br />
respective student criteria for up to one year after graduation.<br />
