General Information<br />
Features<br />
The LAN/RS-232 <strong>Firmware</strong> <strong>Update</strong> Tool 2.7 has the following features:<br />
• for 1100/1200/1290 series modules, 8453 Uv-vis Spectrophotometer,<br />
3100 OFFGEL Fractionator and 1120 Compact LC<br />
• CAN slaves (CAN-valves, UIB or automation interface) are recognized<br />
• G1323B Control Module support (optional)<br />
• updates via LAN or RS-232<br />
• simultaneous module updates (one or more complete system(s)) in one step<br />
via LAN<br />
• simultaneous module updates (one complete system) in one step via RS-232<br />
• module type conversion for 1100/1200, see “1100/1200 Series Compatibility<br />
and Emulation Mode” on page 68<br />
• displaying additional instrument information<br />
• no <strong>Agilent</strong> ChemStation is required<br />
• this document is included in the setup as integrated help<br />
• command line for sending instructions to modules.<br />
<strong>Update</strong> Sequence<br />
The LAN/RS-232 <strong>Firmware</strong> <strong>Update</strong> Tool 2.7 updates the system in the<br />
following order:<br />
1 Control Module (G1323B), if selected<br />
2 CAN slaves (CAN-valves, UIB or automation interface) - sequential<br />
3 all resident firmware - parallel<br />
4 transfer of all modules into resident mode<br />
5 all module main firmware - parallel<br />
6 transfer of all modules into main mode.<br />
NOTE<br />
If you want to upgrade the firmware of modules to revision A.06.xx refer to “<strong>Firmware</strong><br />
<strong>Update</strong> to A.06.xx” on page 63 prior to start the process..<br />
