Solving Problems<br />
Lost Connenction to Module<br />
If the update fails via LAN cross-over cable due to “lost connection to module”<br />
and the module remains in resident mode (flashing status LED), the process is<br />
interrupted.<br />
In this situation check your LAN setup, see “PC and <strong>Agilent</strong> ChemStation<br />
Setup” on page 40.<br />
Do not use a configuration like below. It uses the Default-IP address of the<br />
(192.168.254.11) of the module with the LAN-access. This setup does not work<br />
stable.<br />

The RS-232 <strong>Update</strong> is So Slow<br />
Yes, the serial (RS-232) communication protocol is very slow compared to LAN<br />
communication. Therefore the LAN communication is the recommended<br />
communication protocol for firmware updates. See also “<strong>Update</strong><br />
Durations” on page 44.<br />
