4 <strong>Update</strong>s via Instant Pilot (G4208A)<br />

General Information<br />
• The G4208A Instant Pilot firmware can be updated from a USB Flash Drive<br />
or with the LAN/RS-232 <strong>Firmware</strong> <strong>Update</strong> Tool 2.7 (“<strong>Update</strong>s via<br />
LAN/RS-232 <strong>Firmware</strong> <strong>Update</strong> Tool” on page 27).<br />
• The G4208A Instant Pilot with firmware B.02.08 can update <strong>Agilent</strong><br />
1100/1200/1290 Series modules with firmware A.06.1x or B.06.1x and<br />
above, see “Compatibility Matrix” on page 19.<br />
• The G4208A Instant Pilot with firmware B.01.xx and B.02.xx can update<br />
<strong>Agilent</strong> 1100/1200 modules with firmware A.06.02 or B.01.02 and above,<br />
see “Compatibility Matrix” on page 19.<br />
• The G4208A Instant Pilot with firmware A.05.1X can update <strong>Agilent</strong><br />
1100/1200 modules with firmware A.05.xx , see “Compatibility Matrix” on<br />
page 19.<br />
NOTE<br />
DO NOT interrupt the update process. Otherwise the Control Module cannot be used<br />
anymore. See “Recovering” on page 78. If recover is not possible please contact your<br />
<strong>Agilent</strong> <strong>Technologies</strong> support provider for help.<br />
NOTE<br />
During the firmware update the Instant Pilot has booted in resident mode (to update the<br />
main firmware). In this mode just a basic system is loaded without the graphics drivers.<br />
After update and reboot into the main mode the screen is back.<br />
