Updates via LAN/RS-232 Firmware Update Tool 2
Doing the Firmware Update
NOTE
Due to the long update times (see Table 4 on page 44) of the Control Module G1323B via
LAN/RS-232, it is recommended to use this way of upgrading the firmware on overnight
sessions only.
For quick updates of the Control Module G1323B, the PC-card should be used instead.
If a Control Module (G1323B) is part of the system, the Control Module update will be
updated first as described in “Update Sequence” on page 29.
Aborting the update process
The update process can be aborted at any state by clicking on the X-button or
via the menu Options - Cancel update. A warning will pop up. Please read the
information below carefully - otherwise the abortion may result into a
non-usable item.
Aborting the update process
NOTE
If you cancel an update, the module will remain in the current mode, resident or main,
depending when the process was stopped. It cannot be used until the update process has
been restarted. For more information see “Main firmware update was interrupted” on
page 81 on page 35.
CAUTION
All modules that have only main firmware (e.g. G1323A/B, CAN slaves, valves) will be
unusable when the update process is cancelled. They may be recovered in the factory only.
