2007 (<strong>Houston</strong> 16/16): Started all 16 games for<br />

the fourth time in his career…has started the<br />

last 30 games at left tackle for the <strong>Texans</strong> dating<br />

back to last season…played in 988 of a possible<br />

993 snaps in 2007…part of a line that yielded a<br />

team-low 22 sacks on the season…the <strong>Texans</strong><br />

offensive line allowed two or fewer sacks in<br />

13 of 16 games…started at left tackle against<br />

Kansas City (9/9), the first time since 2003 that<br />

Salaam started on kickoff weekend…started<br />

at Atlanta (9/30), the team that drafted him in<br />

the seventh round in the 1998 draft…served<br />

as a team captain against his former team at<br />

Jacksonville (10/14)…made a start against<br />

his third former team when the <strong>Texans</strong> faced<br />

Denver in <strong>Houston</strong>’s first Thursday Night Game<br />

(12/13)…<strong>Houston</strong> yielded a mere three sacks in<br />

the four games against Salaam’s former teams.<br />

2006 (<strong>Houston</strong> 15/14): Played in 15 games,<br />

starting 14 at left tackle in his first season with<br />

the <strong>Texans</strong>…did not play in the season opener<br />

against Philadelphia (9/10) and saw reserve<br />

action at Indianapolis (9/17) when starting T<br />

Charles Spencer went down with a broken<br />

leg…moved into the starting lineup against<br />

Washington (9/24) and started the final 14 games<br />

of the season…the start against the Redskins<br />

was the 100th of his career.<br />

2005 (Jacksonville 5/2): Played in five games,<br />

starting two at left tackle…inactive for 10<br />

games before being released prior to the<br />

regular-season finale (12/31)…started at LT at<br />

Indianapolis (9/18) and against Denver (10/2).<br />

2004 (Jacksonville 15/12): Played in 15 games in<br />

his first season in Jacksonville and started the<br />

final 12 games of the season at left tackle…<br />

started and played in his 100th career game at<br />

Minnesota (11/28)…did not allow a sack against<br />

Chicago (12/12)…helped the Jaguars offense<br />

rush for 197 yards at Green Bay (12/19).<br />

2003 (Denver 14/14): Started at left tackle in<br />

14 games, helping the Broncos rush for a<br />

franchise-record 2,629 yards, while tying for the<br />

fourth-fewest sacks allowed in team history.<br />

2002 (Denver 16/16): Started all 16 games, 15 at<br />

left tackle and one at right tackle at Baltimore<br />

(9/30)…underwent arthroscopic surgery on his<br />

right ankle (1/8/03).<br />

2001 (Atlanta 14/13): Played in 14 games and<br />

started 13 at right tackle, missing the Falcons’<br />

opener at San Francisco (9/9) and the season<br />

finale at St. Louis (1/6/02) because of an ankle<br />

sprain…played on special teams only at<br />

Indianapolis (12/16) because of an ankle sprain<br />

suffered the week before against New Orleans<br />

(12/9).<br />

2000 (Atlanta 14/10): Started 10 of the 14 games<br />

in which he played at right tackle after his<br />

season began slowly because of a training<br />

camp knee injury that required arthroscopic<br />

surgery (7/24)…returned to practice the week<br />

of the season opener against San Francisco<br />

(9/3)…did not return to the starting lineup until<br />

Week 7 at St. Louis (10/15).<br />

1999 (Atlanta 16/16): Started all 16 games at right<br />

tackle for the second consecutive season to<br />

begin his career…injured his ankle and missed<br />

much of the fourth quarter at St. Louis (10/17),<br />

but returned to the starting lineup a week later<br />

at Pittsburgh (10/25).<br />

1998 (Atlanta 16/16): Earned the starting right<br />

tackle position coming out of training camp<br />

as a rookie and started all 16 regular-season<br />

games and three postseason games, including<br />

Super Bowl XXXIII against Denver (1/31/99)…<br />

helped open holes for NFC rushing champion<br />

Jamal Anderson, who rushed for 1,846 yards<br />

and posted 12 100-yard games on the season…<br />

became the first Falcons rookie to start all 16<br />

games since Lincoln Kennedy in 1993 and just<br />

the fourth player in NFL history to start all 19<br />

games (regular and postseason) in his rookie<br />

season.<br />

COLLEGE: Three-year starter as both a right<br />

and left tackle at San Diego State, playing in<br />

31 career games…lined up at defensive end<br />

as a freshman, but was moved to the offensive<br />

line as a starter in 1995…averaged 4.4 points<br />

per game for the Aztecs’ basketball team…<br />

academic prowess allowed him to skip two<br />

grades in elementary school and he enrolled at<br />

SDSU as a 16-year old freshman.<br />

PERSONAL: Appeared with teammate Chester<br />

Pitts in a 2008 Super Bowl commercial detailing<br />

the pair’s college connection that Salaam<br />

encouraged Pitts to tryout at San Diego State…<br />

two-time all-league and second- team All-<br />

Metro choice during his three year career as<br />

a two-way lineman at Florin High School in<br />
