2007 Review
The Texans (7-8) lost their fifth division game the season as the Indianapolis Colts beat the Texans in their final
appearance at the RCA Dome, 38-15. QB Sage Rosenfels led the Texans down the field on the opening possession,
completing four-of-five pass attempts for 51 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown pass to WR Kevin Walter. Rookie
RB Darius Walker carried the ball two times on the drive for 30 yards. The Colts drove the ball down the field on their
first possession, but the Texans defense held Indianapolis to a 29-yard field from K Adam Vinatieri. RB Joseph Addai
capped off the Colts 12-play, 92-yard drive with a touchdown run from two yards out, giving the Colts a 10-7 lead early
in the second quarter that they would not relinquish the rest of the day. Indianapolis’ defense stopped the Texans
again, forcing a P Matt Turk 46-yard punt that pinned the Colts down at the eight-yard line. On the ensuing drive, QB
Peyton Manning hooked up with TE Dallas Clark on a six-yard touchdown pass. When the Texans took over, Rosenfels
threw an interception, his first of three interceptions on the day, to S Bob Sanders, setting the Colts up deep in Texans
territory. Manning found Clark in the end zone again for his second touchdown of the day, putting the Colts on top 24-7.
After another Texans punt, Indianapolis was driving, when Houston CB Fred Bennett forced a fumble by WR Reggie
Wayne that was recovered by DE Earl Cochran, the first recovery of his career. Rosenfels drove the Texans into field
goal range, but K Kris Brown missed a 49-yard field goal wide right with four seconds remaining in the first half. The
Colts scored touchdowns on each of their first two possessions in the second half, the first a four-yard touchdown run
by RB Chris Dawson and the second was a seven-yard touchdown reception by Wayne from Manning. Late in the
fourth quarter, Rosenfels led the Texans on a four play, 31 yard drive that was capped when WR Andre Johnson got
free over the middle for a six-yard touchdown reception. Walker completed the scoring by running in the two-point
conversion attempt to make the score 38-15.
