his three seasons as an offensive tackles…also
recorded six tackles and blocked three kicks
on special teams…On offense, he caught three
passes for 64 yards (21.3 avg) and one touchdown,
adding 3 yards on a rushing attempt.
2007: Earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast
Conference recognition for the second-straight
season and was a two-time state Offensive
Lineman/End of the Year pick by the Richmond
Touchdown Club…shifted to left offensive tackle,
starting all fourteen games…graded 79 percent
for blocking consistency, as he delivered
34 knockdowns/key blocks for an offense that
averaged 330.5 yards per game.
2006: All-ACC second-team choice…voted
state Offensive Lineman/End of the Year by the
Richmond Touchdown Club...started all year
at right offensive tackle, registering 22 knockdown
blocks for an offense that averaged 295.2
yards per game…Allowed four of the 29 sacks
for losses of 219 yards that was given up by the
front wall…participated in a total of 806 snaps,
as he also recorded two tackles and blocked
a field goal….received the team’s President’s
Award as the most outstanding leader on offense
during the off season and spring.
2005: Was second on the depth chart at tight
end during August camp, but prior to the season
opener, he moved to right offensive tackle,
starting every game…registered fifteen knockdown
blocks while appearing in 678 offensive
plays, seeing 148 additional snaps on special
teams.
2004: Reserve tight end, seeing action in fourteen
games…caught three passes for 64
yards (21.3 avg) and a touchdown…appeared
in 157 offensive snaps and 150 more on special
teams…caught his first collegiate pass vs.
Western Michigan, a 33-yarder from Sean Glennon
that went for a touchdown...had a 26-yard
reception in the win over Florida A&M.
PERSONAL: Attended Hermitage (Richmond,
Va.) High School…lettered twice as a tight end
and defensive end…played in the Panthers’ first
three games his senior year before suffering a
broken leg, but returned for the Central Region
semifinal game, catching seven passes for just
under 100 yards in his limited playing time…also
recorded 15 tackles, along with a pair of sacks
to earn second-team All-District honors…as
a junior, Brown registered 10 catches for 115
yards and two scores, while contributing six
sacks on defense…lettered in basketball…finished
fourth in the Group AAA outdoor shot put
competition….Apparel, Housing and Resource
Management major, with a minor in Consumer
Studies.
