Finishing Strong
For the second consecutive season, the Texans closed out the season in
strong fashion, finishing with a 3-2 record in December and wining the last
game of the year.
Prior to head coach Gary Kubiak’s arrival, the Texans had posted a winning
record in a calendar month just once, a 3-2 record in November, 2003.
Under Kubiak, the team has done that three times. Before Kubiak, Houston
was 0-4 in season finales; in two years under him, the team is 2-0.
Kubiak’s teams have improved as the season wears on. In 2006, the Texans
went 4-4 over the second half of the season and 3-2 in their last five games.
This year, the Texans posted a 5-3 mark in the second half.
