Background: Acute kidney injury<br />
(AKI) is an independent risk factor for<br />
mortality in ne<strong>on</strong>atal, pediatric and adult<br />
critically ill populati<strong>on</strong>s. As serum<br />
creatinine (SCr) is not ideal to diagnose<br />
AKI, urine AKI biomarkers may<br />
improve our ability to detect an injury<br />
early in the disease process. Objectives:<br />
To identify urine biomarkers that predict<br />
acute kidney injury (AKI) in term infants<br />
with perinatal depressi<strong>on</strong> (Apgar score<br />
