Content Description:
Simulation has been widely promoted as a risk-free way to improve training, education and practise readiness.
However, despite great strides, many practioners have had limited exposure to simulation. Furthermore, its role
beyond education (i.e. in terms of testing and improving the system) have yet to be widely realized. This talk
wishes to update attendees on the larger role that could be played by simulation. This talk also outlines findings
<strong>from</strong> a number of ICU simulation studies. The point will be made that it says a great deal about where we are
going as a system based upon whether we do or do not make these changes in the next decade.
