Safety Matters: A Guide for Workplace OHS Representatives has been
produced to assist workplace union delegates and OHS representatives
in effectively participating in and monitoring OHS systems and
developments in their workplace. The Safety Matters Guide contains detailed
information on OHS legal requirements and responsibilities under the OHS Act
2000 and the OHS Regulations 2001, and related legislation in the Rail, Tram
and Bus Industry. It also provides practical guidance material and information
on a number of key areas, such as consultation, OHS representation in the
workplace, OHS management systems, risk management, as well as specific
industry areas such as fatigue management, national medical standards, drug
and alcohol testing.

Safety Matters A Guide for Workplace OHS Representatives
The Safety Matters Guide is a resource developed by the RTBU (NSW Branch)
with the assistance of funds provided by WorkCover under the WorkCover Assist
Program. This Guide builds on and complements other resources developed
through the Safe-T-Rail Training Program and Delegates OHS Information Kit,
developed for RTBU members.
