Master of Business Administration (MBA)<br />

Mission<br />

The mission of the Master of Business Administration program at <strong>ALHOSN</strong> <strong>University</strong> is to provide a<br />

high-quality professional graduate degree program to students, holding any undergraduate degree,<br />

who aspire to holding positions of senior managerial and leadership nature in organizations through<br />

education in the broad scope of business administration and through in-depth knowledge in one or<br />

more specialized areas of business.<br />

<strong>Vision</strong><br />

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at <strong>ALHOSN</strong> <strong>University</strong> envisions itself in the<br />

future to be recognized as one of the top private higher educational professional degree offering<br />

programs in the field of Business Administration in the United Arab Emirates <strong>with</strong> the leading edge in<br />

research, analytical methods and technology, attracting the best students, faculty, and staff.<br />

Goals<br />

This program focuses specifically on exposing students to key business management concepts and<br />

provides students <strong>with</strong> the opportunity to develop and apply professional skills in a number of areas<br />

critical to managerial leadership in today’s competitive business environment. The goals of the MBA<br />

program are to develop graduates <strong>with</strong>:<br />

1. The most appropriate competencies in conceptualizing, organizing, and resolving complex<br />

business problems while considering the impact of technology, globalization, emerging<br />

markets, and demographic diversity on the organization,<br />

2. The most useful in-depth knowledge of a selected area of specialization to be able to make<br />

significant contributions at the work place<br />

3. Sufficient awareness of the major challenges facing contemporary global business such as<br />

the need for innovation, integrity, ability to manage change, globalization, and effective<br />

management of technology,<br />

4. Extensive understanding of human behavior in business situations and the manager’s role as<br />

a leader in influencing behavior,<br />

5. Intensive appreciation of teamwork, communication, creativity, decision- making, and<br />

strategic planning competencies in order to be able to apply these competencies in formulating,<br />

executing, and evaluating organizational initiatives and decision- making processes.<br />

6. A broad understanding of the implication of the legal and ethical framework that applies to<br />

both business and the professions concerned.<br />

Objectives<br />

Graduates of this program should be able to utilize business knowledge in accounting, economics,<br />

finance, information technology, marketing, management and international business in making<br />

managerial decisions and executing organizational initiatives, understand human behavior in business<br />

situations and the manager’s role as a leader in influencing behavior, and demonstrate an understanding<br />

and application of the legal and ethical framework that applies to both business and the professions<br />

concerned.<br />

Specifically, the objectives of the MBA program are:<br />

1. To train students on the use of advanced decision-making tools and techniques such as the<br />

case analysis method, problem solving approach and computerized simulations to be able to<br />

conceptualize, organize, and solve complex business problems.<br />

2. To prepare students to be able to account for the impact of technology, globalization,<br />

emerging markets, and demographic diversity in the organization.<br />

3. To furnish students <strong>with</strong> in-depth knowledge of a selected area of specialization.<br />
