Circulation<br />

The policy governing the lending of library materials for use by the university community is designed to<br />

allow maximum use of these materials outside the library. All members of the <strong>University</strong> community<br />

(students and faculty) may borrow materials from the library. Borrowing privileges are also extended to<br />

other university support staff. (Please refer to the circulation policy and procedures for more details.)<br />

Audio visuals<br />

The media services section houses the library audio / video materials such as audiotapes, videotapes,<br />

slides films, CD.<br />

Photocopying<br />

A pre-paid photocopying machine using a card is made available in the library for patrons use at very<br />

reasonable prices.<br />

Technical Services<br />

Acquisition Section<br />

The acquisition section is in charge of developing the library collection in support of teaching and<br />

research at the university faculties and centers.<br />

Cataloguing and Classification<br />

The section is in charge of all technical services <strong>with</strong>in the library which include among other things<br />

cataloguing and classification. The Library uses the AACR2 and the Library of Congress Classification<br />

and the MARC applications.<br />

System Section<br />

This section supervises the work of the electronic library system used in the library and ensures its<br />

proper functioning. It also provides training sessions for all library patrons on the search of information<br />

through the library portal.<br />

Regular Semester (Fall and Spring)<br />

Sunday to Wednesday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm<br />

Thursday<br />

8:30 am - 5:30 pm<br />

Inter Semester Break<br />

Sunday to Thursday<br />

8:30 am - 5:30 pm<br />

Extended hours may be announced if needed.<br />

Summer Semester<br />

Sunday to Thursday<br />

8:30 am - 6:00 pm<br />

The Library is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.<br />

Instructions to All Library Users<br />

The university library is a quiet place designed and prepared for reading, study and research activities.<br />

For optimal use of the library resources, it is requested from all library users to abide by the following<br />

instructions:<br />

Please keep quiet while in the library.<br />

No food or drink is allowed in the library.<br />

The use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.<br />

Please don’t return the books to the shelves after use (Leave them on the reading tables).<br />

Please keep the library clean and tidy.<br />

Please don’t leave your personal belongings inside the library on leaving.<br />

Please follow the instructions issued by the library staff and co-operate fully <strong>with</strong> them (they<br />

are here to help you).<br />

Failure to follow these instructions will infringe the rights of other library users.<br />
