Teachers initially recruited to the program were trained in life skillsand active in the development <strong>of</strong> life skills–based education materials. Inlater phases teachers chosen were those who showed interest in workingwith young people and who were competent at and active in organizing andleading activities in their schools.Following the orientation workshop, training <strong>of</strong> teachers (including teamleaders and work teams), peer educators, and others, including head teachersand supervisors, was carried out over a two-week period.
