Core Strategy OptionsCommunity / Village HallsIn accordance with the standards for provision identified in the Councils PPG17 Open spaceAssessment this option would require the provision of a community hall with the facilitiesrequirements as set out under Option UE1.Transport Infrastructure RequirementsTransport infrastructure improvements required to accommodate the urban extension will beidentified through the South East Dorset Multi-Modal Study and the A35 Route ManagementProject. This option accommodates a lower housing figure than Options UE1 and UE2 and islikely to have a lesser impact on the road network. As with Option UE1 and UE2 it is likely thatthis option will require improvements to A35 junctions and improvements to public transportservices.Sustainable Construction and Renewable EnergyThis urban extension will be required to comply with Core Strategy climate changes policiesfor sustainable construction set out in Chapter 12 (Managing the Natural Environment). Futureenergy requirements for the site should be provided by dwelling based sources e.g. heat pumps,solar PV and solar thermal. With development of this scale it is not considered viable to considersite wide technologies such as combined heat and power.Flood / Water AttenuationSufficient land should be identified for the provision of surface water storage.
