Core Strategy Options17.8 Objective 4, To enable the mixed economy of Christchurch and East Dorset to growand to develop new employment sectors-Significant new employment areas will be created atBournemouth Airport (15-20ha) and on key sites in East Dorset to serve the local and sub-regionaleconomy. A range of employment sites will be provided meeting the needs of the local economy,and a hierarchy of sites will be developed so that certain sites can be reserved for higher orderdevelopment in key employment sectors. Rural farm diversification will be supported in appropriatelocations near key rural settlements such as Alderholt, Colehill, Corfe Mullen, Cranborne, Ferndown,St Leonards/St Ives, Sturminster Marshall, Verwood, West Moors, Wimborne, Burton, Winkton andHurn, and adjacent to the main Christchurch urban area.
