Core Strategy OptionsPreferred Option KS 3Land at St Leonard’s Hospital should be a Major Developed Site in the Green Belt, in accordancewith the requirements of Annex C to Planning Policy Guidance Note 2.Why is it the Preferred Option?St Leonard's Hospital is a large development that is subject to demands for change. A planning permissionhas already been granted for a care village on part of the land. This has not been implemented and furtheropportunities to make good use of the land are being investigated, including an option to use part of thedeveloped area for employment purposes.This option is assessed as being positive in that it could enable the provision of housing or employmentdevelopment on a previously developed site.
