Core Strategy OptionsPreferred Option PC 1Developing an Employment Site HierarchyThe following site hierarchy is proposed to influence the location of higher order employmentuses that are economically productive and offer highly skilled and well paid employment andto identify sites where a more flexible approach to business activity will be adopted.The following sites are considered to be ‘high quality’ and offer the necessary locational attributesto attract higher order uses. Sites at the top of the hierarchy including Bournemouth AirportBusiness Park, the former BAE site, and those in East Dorset, will be the focus for meetingprojected requirements for B1, B2 and B8 uses. On these sites activity within non B use classwill only be considered where it makes a significant contribution to raising levels of productivityand offers skilled employment opportunities.
