Allied health professionals are involved withthe delivery of health or related services pertaining to theidentification, evaluation and prevention of diseases and disorders;dietary and nutrition services; rehabilitation and health systemsmanagement..The Bachelor of Science in Allied Health degree program provides abroad-based foundation in global and national health care issuesand trends, ethical and legal issues, health promotion and diseaseprevention, evidence based practice and allied health care research,health care systems management and health care based informatics.The program is designed to articulate with Associate of Arts, alliedhealth related degree programs at community colleges. It preparesgraduates with additional knowledge, skills, and values to advancein the allied health profession; meet societal and health caredelivery demands; and work in a variety of settings with diversepatients, families and communities. Graduates are prepared toassume supervisory, management, and/or educational positions. Inaddition, successful completion of this program allows students topursue graduate education in the health care field.Health andHuman ServicesThe general education program consists of a minimum of 70.5quarter units. Of the 70.5 quarter units, students must complete atleast 4.5 quarter units at the upper-division level and 4.5 quarterunits in diversity enriched coursework. A plus {+} indicates adiversity enriched offering.
