The proportion of men and women for the entire<br />

Sodexo population moved closer to parity in<br />

Fiscal 2011, with men representing 46% and women<br />

54%.<br />

It should be noted that the Group’s objective for the<br />

proportion of women in senior management is 25%<br />

in 2015, as compared to 18% in 2009. This proportion<br />

was 20.1% in 2011.<br />

2.1.5 employee retention rate<br />

The employee retention rate is one of the Group’s key<br />

performance indicators. For the current fiscal year,<br />

the retention rate for all employees was 61.9% and<br />

the rate for site managers was 83.6%.<br />

2.1.6 employee training, by grade<br />

Employee training and development is one of the<br />

cornerstones of the Group’s Human Resources<br />

strategy. Sodexo continued to invest in training in<br />

Fiscal 2011.<br />

The total number of training hours for all Group<br />

employees was 4,818,759 hours, 151,204 hours more<br />

than in Fiscal 2010.<br />

2.1.7 Internal promotion<br />

During Fiscal 2011, 2,055 front-line staff were<br />

promoted to site manager and 575 site managers and<br />

other non-site staff were promoted to managerial<br />

positions, for a total of 2,630 internal promotions<br />

to a manager grade by promotion from one grade<br />

to another. These figures do not include internal<br />

promotions within the same grade.<br />
