5,813 staff were recruited on a permanent contract<br />

during Fiscal 2011, comprising 3,805 by direct<br />

recruitment, 1,022 by conversion of fixed-term<br />

contracts into permanent contracts, and 986 by taking<br />

over staff from other service-providers.<br />

Focus on Sodexo France<br />

As of August 31, 2011, 10.12% of employees were on<br />

fixed-term contracts.<br />

During the fiscal year, employment on fixed-term<br />

contracts represented less than 12.74% of hours<br />

worked and temporary agency work represented<br />

1.55%. These mainly concerned temporary<br />

replacements and spikes in workload.<br />

211,147 hours of overtime were worked in Fiscal 2011,<br />

or 0.39% of hours worked.<br />

1,294 employees were terminated in Fiscal 2011, of<br />

which 37 were for economic reasons.<br />

Sodexo maintains active relations with educational<br />

institutions, via:<br />

• the development of a long-term relationship<br />

with the French department of education, by<br />

providing training for school teachers at our sites<br />

(10 in 2011), contributing to work overhauling<br />

qualifications (the vocational high-school diploma,<br />

in 2011), working with the French associations of<br />

high schools training for the hotel trade (AFLYHT<br />

and ANEPOTH), attending conferences on trends<br />

in occupations and training, etc.;<br />

• the consolidation of partnerships with 30 higher<br />

educational institutions (business schools,<br />

engineering schools and universities); attendance<br />

at 13 higher education forums for meeting<br />

with potential applicants; presenting Sodexo’s<br />

businesses to classes and conferences; and<br />

sponsoring promotion.<br />
