The Better Tomorrow Plan defines a worldwide<br />
corporate citizenship roadmap that addresses issues<br />
identified as being relevant to the Company’s values.<br />
The targets set for the Better Tomorrow Plan’s Fiscal<br />
2011 deployment process have been successfully met<br />
and the Better Tomorrow Plan has achieved a strong<br />
level of awareness among stakeholders, particularly<br />
Sodexo’s clients. The second year of implementation<br />
focused on strengthening awareness among the teams<br />
and stakeholders, setting timetables for each country,<br />
establishing performance measurements, defining<br />
guidelines for each sustainability commitment and<br />
working on increasing stakeholder engagement.<br />
1.1 Strengthening awareness and<br />
developing the management<br />
system<br />
Sodexo finalized its Better Tomorrow Plan awareness<br />
kit with tools and documents to support the<br />
implementation of the strategy.<br />
Among the resources available to its 80 countries,<br />
Sodexo has:<br />
• developed a Resource Center for site managers and<br />
operations teams;<br />
• trained 20,000 managers from 60 countries using<br />
an e-learning application in seven languages;<br />
• created a digital newsletter sent to 2,000 internal<br />
and external contacts each month;<br />
• developed a set of materials available on<br />
www.sodexo.com and presented them to senior<br />
managers from various functions;<br />

In 2009, Sodexo unveiled a new roadmap, the<br />
“Better Tomorrow Plan,” aimed at enhancing its<br />
sustainable development performance and evaluating<br />
the impact of actions taken. The Better Tomorrow<br />
Plan is being deployed across the 80 countries<br />

and 33,400 sites in which Sodexo operates and<br />
engages its 391,000 employees. This is a continuous<br />
improvement strategy, with major review dates set<br />
for 2012, 2015 and 2020.<br />
• maintained an open dialogue with Socially<br />
Responsible Investment Rating agencies and<br />
Ethical Investors to further explain its challenges<br />
and decisions/actions taken.<br />
These actions resulted in Sodexo’s inclusion in<br />
additional sustainability indices and maintained<br />
recognition of Sodexo as a global sustainability leader.<br />
During Fiscal 2011, the network of 80 local champions<br />
at local level who ensure the Better Tomorrow Plan<br />
is properly deployed in each country has been<br />
expanded. To support them in their mission, virtual<br />
webinars have been put in place on a regular basis.<br />
To drive Sodexo’s journey towards the achievement<br />
of its sustainability commitments, six “Subject Matter<br />
Leaders” steer nine task forces.<br />
For several years, Sodexo has implemented an online<br />
monitoring tool called CITIZEN. Today, CITIZEN<br />
lists more than 1,330 initiatives originating in<br />
60 countries, with more than 500 new initiatives<br />
since January 2011.<br />
Each country has defined its objectives, priorities and<br />
action plan in light of the Better Tomorrow Plan’s<br />
deadlines, from now until 2012-2015-2020.<br />
1.2 Establishing performance<br />
measurement, reporting<br />
and management<br />
As part of the Better Tomorrow Plan, Sodexo has<br />
committed to report its progress regularly and<br />
accurately in order to ensure that the objectives<br />
