<strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Planning</strong> Sri Lanka > <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2010</strong>Pradeshiya Sabhas, 12 UrbanCouncils, 3 Municipal Councils(Jaffna, Kalmunai <strong>and</strong> Batticaloa) inthe Northern <strong>and</strong> Eastern Provinces.Anticipated best achievementswould be upgrading concrete or tarroads <strong>of</strong> 998kms (USD 46 million),construction <strong>of</strong> sewerage drainage<strong>of</strong> 245kms (USD 5.5 million), supply<strong>of</strong> equipment to 439 rural waterschemes (USD 5 million ), extension<strong>of</strong> 187kms rural electrification (USD3.5 million) <strong>and</strong> developing 405small townships (USD 16 million).Community Livelihoods in ConflictAffected Areas Project –“Re-awakening Project”.The Government has launchedthe “Re-awakening Project” (MaruEluchchi Thittum-in Thamil) inConflict Affected Areas to bringback a new life for the people. It is expectedto improve the central functions<strong>of</strong> the hospital under this projectby constructing a new four-storiedbuilding with an area <strong>of</strong> 6,870 squaremeters to house a new OperationTheatre Complex including IncentiveCare Units (ICUs) <strong>and</strong> Central Supply277
