Only 79,397 connectionshave been given in 2009.• The following major constructionwork of water schemes were ongoingduring the year 2010:- Construction of three water towers atKesbewa, Jamburaliya and Kumbukaunder the Kaluganga water supplyproject at a cost of Rs. 982 million.- Pipe laying of Kotikawatta -Mulleriyawa 40km distribution systemand construction of Maligakanda andElli House Reservoirs at a cost of Rs.1,112mn- Survey and soil investigation workin the Ampara District and tenderawarding for major supply andconstruction contracts of Easternprovince water supply project at acost of Rs. 15 million.
