He was a Member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Directors, and from 1996 to 1998 was a VicePresident <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Marine <strong>Engine</strong>ers.
