Shyam Krishna Shilpakar, carpenter and
woodcarver, age 44
Shyam Krishna Shilpakar lives in the area of Dudhpati,
Bhaktapur, with his wife, son, and daughter. He learned
his carpentry and carving skills from his father and other
senior members of his family. Shyam Krishna has been
working in this field for thirty years. For two years he
worked at the conservation project in Panauti funded
by the French government. He has his own workshop in
Bhaktapur, but started working in Patan.
