Transformer Bank Unbalance: Practical Issues and Solutions
Project summary
This project will explain dissimilar single phase
transformers issues and faults in a common bank. The
parameters that are studied to see the effect they have on
the network and which parameter is causing the problem.
Project Objectives
1) Understanding the problem.
2) Construct the network using PSCAD.
3) Construct and simulate networks to better
understanding
Project Conclusion
The results for this condition when the load is
un-balanced show that the third harmonic
(150 Hz) is dominant factor in the neutral
current. This is also the case for the
conditions when the leakage reactance, the
power factor, active power, and the reactive
power are increased in the transformer
(leakage reactance) and the load side
respectively.
