Problem and Solution Discovery on a New Product
Introduction:
The current techniques for building software and
hardware are often slow and ineffective and do not
solve real life problems and. With lean techniques and
methodologies we are prompted to first investigate if
there is a need to be solved before we worry about the
details of the product. This allows us to fail and learn
faster, to adapt our product strategy and tactics
quickly, and to hopefully launch the right product with
the right features a lot sooner.
For this project I will be putting the methodologies and
techniques to the test and investigating how I can
optimise and solve some inefficiencies whilst
automate processes in recruitment and personal
development. I’ll start by doing my research and refine
my problem to a niche target market. Then I will do
some experiments and construct a MVP (Minimal
viable product) so I can test my solutions. From the
MVP I’ll then come up with functional requirements
and then construct a very basic software version of the
product.
The agile methodology allows for a lot more
flexibility over other project management
methodologies (and we can make small
changes at each phase of the investigation
without deviating from the schedule and end
goal. For this reasons it is perfect to use it in
conjunction with lean techniques and
methodologies.

Project Objectives
My aims for this investigation are to optimise
and solve some inefficiency and automate
processes in recruitment and personal
development. I also aim to have a solution
that is market fit and actually solves the
growing problems documented in this report
Project Conclusion
I learnt a lot about an industry I had no idea
out. I followed the guidelines about the lean
start up and I started to see the results.
