Introduction <strong>and</strong> Objectives<br />

Introduction: The health-related quality of life (HRQOL) is associated with<br />

mortality, hospitalization <strong>and</strong> utilization the sanitary resources, for this now the<br />

HRQOL is also <strong>and</strong> therapeutic target. Now is a result’ s variable with interest in<br />

research <strong>and</strong> in the clinic practice.<br />

Objective: Study the quality of life the patients that go to health resort for receive<br />

the thermal cure.<br />

Materials <strong>and</strong> Methods<br />

Design : Transversal descriptive study .<br />

Field: <strong>Medical</strong> hydrology.<br />

Participants: 68 patients.<br />

Main variables: Demographic variables (age, sex, chronic diseases, surgical interventions).<br />

Applicant pathology. Measure of the quality of life with the SF36 test<br />

questionnaire.<br />

Results<br />

Mean age: 70 years. Sex: women: 54,4 %. Chronic diseases: hypertension 47,1<br />

%, diabetes mellitus 16,2 %, dyslipidemia 38,2 %,asthma/ chronic bronchitis 8,8 %,<br />

heart vessels disease (ischemic heart disease/cerebral vessels accident/ arrhythmia)<br />

14,7 %, cancer (colon, prostate, breast) 7,4 %, varicose veins 32,4 %, gastric –<br />

duodenal ulcer 8,8 %, depression/ anxiety 7,4 %, osteoporosi 14,7 %, hypothyroidism<br />

8,8 %.<br />

Applicant pathology: pain pathology 100 %, bronquial-pulmonary pathology<br />

14,7 %. The punctuation in the different dimensions of the SF -36 test were top to<br />

50: physical function (FF) 71,62, physic role (RF) 67,64, physical pain (DC) 58,08<br />

, health st<strong>and</strong>ards (SG) 59,33, vitality (V) 63, 97 , social function (FS)81,61, emotional<br />

role (RE) 76,47, mental health (SM) 73,17. Women present lower punctuations<br />

in the SF-36 that the men (Figure 1). The oncological patients diagnosed <strong>and</strong><br />

treaty <strong>and</strong> stable situation of the oncological disease present lower punctuations in<br />

the SF-36 that no oncological patients.<br />

Conclusions<br />

Patients that go to sanitary resource for receive thermal cure are elderly age.<br />
