method.
Using a rhinoscope, a light source and a front mirror, the saccharin test is based
on putting the saccharin on the floor of the inferior turbinate, and evaluates the time
in which the patient reports having a sweet taste sensation.
The test result is on direct connection to the ciliary movement and the amount of
functional specialized cells at the level of the nasal mucosa.
At the same time that the determinations of saccharin were carried out, different
issues were studied related to quality of life of patients, with the application test of
high-respiratory disease disability, focused on nasal symptoms and their severity.
The results were analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques, showing significant
changes in ciliary motility.
